Our 2.Ag students reflected on the issue of exclusion from groups and communities, and on what it feels like for young people when they feel misunderstood. Through a magazine article, we discussed Tourette syndrome, which is portrayed in the movie I Swear starring Robert Aramayo in the leading role. We talked about its symptoms, which can make a person feel misunderstood and pushed to the margins of society and peer groups, and about how little we still know about this rare syndrome. In the end, the students had the opportunity to write a message to anyone who may feel misunderstood and excluded.
